Gears is a transport and recon specialist for the Autobots. His talents regularly see him aiding his comrades when they are running low on fuel and scouting for potential energy resources. Although one of the smaller Autobots, Gears is one of the most durable and can take a lot of punishment in the rare occasions he is called into battle.
Gears is what humans might call "cranky". He frequently complains about the Autobots' sorry state of affairs and he misses Cybertron terribly. He has no love for Earth whatsoever.

- Alt-Mode - Gears' Earth-based vehicle mode is a 1983 Chevrolet S-10.
- Jump Jets - Gears can release controlled bursts of compressed air from his feet, capable of propelling him almost 20 miles high.
