The Gator is a scrapped Badnik design intended to appear in Sonic the Hedgehog 2. It resembles a green (though sometimes it may be coloured blue) alligator/crocodile-like robot on wheels. It rolls over and chomps the player during the stage. It was in Emerald Hill and Hidden Palace's Debug lists, although it is most known for its appearance in the lost Dust Hill Zone.

Gators are among the numerous Badnik models to appear in the IDW Sonic the Hedgehog comic series. They most recently appeared among a large horde of Badniks in Eggperial City during Dr. Starline's failed Operation: Remaster.
