Jack is a COG geobot from the Gears of War video game series. Like other geobots of its class, Jack was designed for geological study and storing map data. During humanity's war against the Locust Horde, Jack has been repurposed as a support unit and functions as a communications relay and can perform repairs to machinery. It is also very handy at opening doors and in Gears of War 3 it was upgraded with a taser for stunning enemies. Before Gears 3, Jack would turn invisible and hide during combat situations.
