Jetfire is a Transformer dedicated to the advancement of science. His devotion to science has led to him not only enhancing the Autobots' weaponry and other technologies, but he is frequently making modifications to his own body, making sure every component is up-to-date and performing at its peak. Long ago on Cybertron, Jetfire was a colleague and friend of Starscream's, and when the latter joined Megatron's Decepticons, he persuaded Jetfire to come with him. Jetfire found the transition from science to warfare a difficult one and felt out of place among the war-mongering Decepticon ranks. Realising that their cause was unjust, he switched sides to the Autobots and has remained loyal to them ever since.
Capabilities
- Flight - Jetfire is one of the few Autobots capable of flight.
- Jet Mode - Jetfire transforms into a Cybertronian jet capable of sub-orbital and even space flight. In an atmosphere, his top cruising speed is Mach 4.2. However, his flight range is limited by his fuel consumption.
- Particle Beam Cannons - The cannons around Jetfire's head can all be independently targetted and can inflict serious thermal damage.
- Armour-Piercing Missiles - Jetfire can deliver a volley of missiles in jet form that can punch through the strongest armour, delivering a heavy explosive payload to a target's inner workings.
