Metallix mk.2 attacks Sonic and Knuckles
Metallix mk. 2 is the second model of Metallix robots created by Dr. Robotnik in Sonic the Comic. It is directly based on the Mecha Sonic boss from the Sonic & Knuckles video game.
In STC's 49th issue, Metallix mk. 2 was sent by Doctor Robotnik to steal the Master Emerald so that the doctor could launch his newly repaired Death Egg. The Metallix encountered Sonic and Knuckles and led them to the Sky Sanctuary Zone to do battle. The robot absorbed the energy of the Master Emerald, becoming stronger than Sonic and Knuckles combined. It made a severe tactical error during the battle, however, and knocked Sonic right next to the Master Emerald. Sonic absorbed the Chaos energy and transformed into the maniacal Super Sonic, who swiftly knocked off Metallix's head and tore its body apart.
