Red is a Reploid vigilante and the leader and namesake of the Red Alert syndicate in Mega Man X7. For some time, he led his group in tackling Maverick incidents that the Maverick Hunters were unable to reach. However, he entered into an alliance with an enigmatic Reploid calling himself "The Professor" (who was, in fact, the Maverick terrorist Sigma) who convinced Red that the Hunters were obsolete. At the Professor's urging, Red and his forces began taking more aggressive and ruthless actions, not just against Mavericks but the Hunters as well.
History[]
After Axl deserts Red Alert, Red sends his forces to bring Axl back. Sigma observes Red Alert's battles, gathering more data on Axl as he combats each of the Red Alert members. But Sigma isn't satisfied with only Axl's data and demands that Red acquire Mega Man X's data as well. To ensure Red's cooperation, Sigma infects and corrupts the other Red Alert members, saying he will only release them if Red obeys.
When X, Zero and Axl invade Red Alert's headquarters, Red confronts them and tells them about the Professor. As they fight, Red activates the base's self-destruct and the chamber they are in begins to collapse. Red urges the Hunters to go and find the Professor and stays behind, allowing himself to be buried under the rubble.
Abilities[]
- Scythe - Red's signature weapon is a deadly energy scythe capable of cutting down enemies with ease.
- Bunshin - Red creates two holographic copies of himself to confuse his foes. These copies are hardlight and can still inflict damage, but cannot be damaged themselves.
- Tornado - Red creates a series of vortexes on the platforms surrounding him.
- Wide Shot - If struck by a long-distance attack, Red will counter with a crescent-shaped blast from his scythe.
Weaknesses[]
Red is most vulnerable to Zero's Hadangeki attack. He can also be heavily damaged by the Explosion weapon that X and Axl gain from Vanishing Gungaroo.
