Robotnik Jr. is the robot son of Dr. Robotnik in Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog. He first appeared in the episode "Robotnik Jr.", originally created to carry on his father's villainous legacy when the doctor passed on, but he would soon come to befriend Sonic the Hedgehog and abandon his father.
History[]
Robotnik Jr.[]
Concerned that he might pass on and be forgotten by the people of Mobius, Dr. Robotnik creates a robotic son to carry on his evil ways. Robotnik Jr. is initially a bully and a troublemaker, traits that ultimately make his father proud, but disgruntled Badniks Scratch and Grounder become agitated by Junior's presence and try to get rid of him. Their attempts are thwarted by Sonic who saves Junior and encourages him to choose for himself rather than follow in his father's footsteps. Robotnik is outraged by this and forces Junior to assist him with his latest plan to eliminate Sonic. He manages to capture Sonic and attempts to kill him with a giant magnifying lens that will focus a deadly solar laser on him, but Junior sabotages the device and saves Sonic. Junior thereby disowns his father and becomes good.
Sonic the Matchmaker[]
Dr. Robotnik decides to create a robot wife, but is concerned that she may betray him like Robotnik Jr. did. He captures Junior as well as his former spy Breezie in order to discern the flaw that caused the robots to go rogue. Sonic later rescues the two, but while in captivity Junior develops feelings toward Breezie. Breezie is uninterested in Junior as she is still in love with Sonic, but with Sonic and Tails' help he manages to get Breezie's attention. After ruining another of Robotnik's schemes, Junior and Breezie get married and they live together in a small cottage.
Appearance[]
Junior appears to be a younger version of Dr. Robotnik, sharing his father's regular outfit of a red jumpsuit and sporting black eyes with red irises. Instead of a moustache, Junior has a head of orange hair styled in a Mohawk.
Personality[]
Robotnik Jr. was programmed to resemble Dr. Robotnik in his youth. He was originally mischievous, rude, and didn't care about others. That would change after Sonic saved his life and Junior would learn the difference between right and wrong. He also developed romantic feelings for Breezie which she would later reciprocate.
