Spiker is a slow-moving, vaguely insectoid Badnik created by Dr. Eggman. It has a spherical head, attached to a yellow base with four spindly legs that can crawl over floors and ceilings. On top of its head is a spiked drill which serves as both a digging tool and a weapon. The drill can be launched like a rocket whenever an enemy approaches.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (16-bit)
Spikers make their debut in Sonic 2's Hill Top Zone. They can be found creeping across the ground or even hanging from ceilings, lying in wait for the player. When the player approaches, the Spiker will launch the drill rocket on its head that will travel straight up or down depending on whether the Spiker is on the floor or ceiling. Once the drill has been launched, the Spiker will be defenceless and the player can destroy it with any attack.
Sonic Lost World
Spiker Badniks make a reappearance in Wii U version of Sonic Lost World, where they are only seen as enemies in 2.5D section of Tropical Coast Zone 4. They are seen to have the same attack pattern from Sonic the Hedgehog 2, but now they are able to fire their spiky cones much faster than in the previous game, which can be more tricky to bypass. The player can simply then destroy it after the Badnik loses its spiky cone.
